Part I – Behold, the Annihilator!

I awaken from my slumber, and the visions from my dreams persist in front of my very eyes. Unholy words of an ancient and profane speech are uttered, compelling me to heed unto this dark revelation! As the meaning of these words begins to clear in my mind, I am overwhelmed by a sudden manifestation of pure malevolence. My visions herald the return of the Annihilator!

I am the witness to the face of the wandering star
I know the will of the master; I hear a voice calling me from afar
From beyond the realm of the mortal, in the dark of the longest night
We summon forth the legions of death, upon this night I command you to arise!

Part II – The Summoning of the Legion

My way is that of chaos
My way is that of conquest
(Voices far away call to me)
My way is that of madness
My way is that of pain
(Staring down from beyond the cosmic dream)

Now arise lords of suffering, claim your vengeance!
Strike the heart of the world of men on this night!
Times of war, plagues and pestilence, will befall you!
Feel the fear, feel the madness, overwhelming!

Part III – Of Fear and Resolve

Lord Hovngar to his loyal Arch Champion Vostraad:
“I have grown old and weary, and the vigour with which I once fought I fear I can sustain no longer. Is it better to withdraw quietly to the comfort of the shadows in the eve of one’s prime, or should we stand and fight till the very moment our hearts and will can endure no longer, and we emerge victorious or have our throats torn out by the wolves of the night? I have made my choice, Champion. I suggest that you do the same…”

Vostraad’s journey to the battlefield:
I will follow the signs among the stars as they shine in the night
Leading me to my destiny on the battlefield; for my land I must fight
I feel the pride within my heart as I look to the sky
We’ll reunite once more in the halls of our fathers for on this day we may die!

Part IV – The Battle of the Crimson Valley

Vostraad:
In the midst of the carnage
With a furious rage
We channel the might of our forebears
From a time-lost age.
And on the distant horizon
We behold the sight...
...of the rays of the dawn arising, piercing through the crimson sky.

Faced with an unwavering resistance, the great hordes of darkness were severely thinned in number and the banners of the Black Star fell to the blood-stained ground. Bereft of victory, withdrawal was inevitable; yet the obsidian curse had begun to pervade. As the black relics grew in strength, their cosmic energies began calling out to the prophets of chaos, begging to be reunited once more. This was to be but a chapter in the great crusade to seize the ultimate power, and the bloody campaign of the Black Legion was only just beginning…
